Isco is likely to be one of the transfer sagas of the summer with multiple clubs after his signature.
According to AS, Zinedine Zidane is willing to let Isco move in the summer. The French manager is reported to be disappointed with Isco’s creative output this season especially considering he opted to keep him over James Rodríguez. This seems slightly unfair due to the fact that converting chances has been their main issue this season with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema being at fault for that.
Isco is a key part of the team because he helps progression up the pitch as well as being the chief creative outlet in the final third. He has been left out of key games and Real have looked blunt without him such as in El Clásico. Without his creativity they lack a system to fall back on so they rely too heavily on individual brilliance.
In the last league game against Levante he came on and changed the game completely and even managed to score. However, Real’s shaky defence was at fault as they conceded a late equaliser.
Although Isco’s departure is dependent on whether Zidane is still manager in the summer. Their only realistic chance of silverware is the Champions League and that could be just enough to save his job. However, failing to win that means that he will definitely be gone by the end of the season because this has been an embarrassing season for Los Blancos so far.
Potential destinations
Isco has been a target of Liverpool for a while and there is a big hole left in the team due to Philippe Coutinho’s departure. The main issue is whether he would fit into Jürgen Klopp’s pressing machine. To get the best out of Isco he has to be given licence to drift in advanced positions.

This would work well offensively because of the movement that Liverpool provide especially behind the opposition defence. However, defensive contribution is an issue because of the work rate is required to stifle the opposition through intent pressing.
Two other Premier League clubs that are admirers are Arsenal and Manchester City. Neither club has a desperate need for a player of his ilk currently. The Gunners have Mesut Özil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to fill that role while City have David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne. Although that won’t necessarily stop them from trying to sign him especially with City’s vast financial resources. His sheer talent warrants that kind of attention.
Juventus and Bayern Munich have also been linked with him. They would be attractive destinations considering they are two of the biggest clubs in Europe. However, they would struggle to compete with the money offered by Premier League clubs. Bayern’s efficient method of business means that they would be unlikely to be get embroiled in a transfer saga which rules them out.

The Italian champions could really utilise someone of his skillset. They also have a potential bargaining chip in Paulo Dybala who has been linked with Real. This would be a good move for Isco because he would be moving to a club of similar prestige and a winning culture. He would certainly benefit Juventus’ playing style and Dybala moving in the other direction would boost Real.
