Tottenham want one goal and one point at Juventus

Mauricio Pochettino is talking a brave game about Tottenham’s desire to head to Turin and go toe-to-toe with Juventus. That makes for great press clippings, but the reality is Pochettino would be more than happy to return to North London with one away goal and one point in his pocket.

To that end, the Argentine gaffer will resist the urge to start his most attacking formation against The Old Lady. He’ll still stick with a normal group of 11 starters, but he won’t be deploying any sort of swashbuckling formation. Look for Pochettino to deploy four at the back as usual, but to go with a diamond in his midfield to keep Juventus at bay.

Ultimately, his midfield formation is likely to change several times throughout the course of the match. Juventus’ tactics and personnel will have an impact on the way Pochettino sets his side up. The midfield diamond will shift and move throughout the full 90 minutes.

Spurs won’t be bullied by what Juventus want to do though. Pochettino will set up with a conservative starting XI, but it will still be designed to dictate play. Read on to discover the XI Tottenham players who will start Spurs’ biggest match of the year to date.
