Several Tottenham stars had nightmares at Rochdale

When extra time began it looked as if Tottenham were set to advance over Rochdale with a hard-earned 2-1 win. Then, Toby Alderweireld handed Steve Davies a golden chance at goal that may forever be remembered in the lore of the FA Cup.

To say that it was an uneven performance for Spurs would be a massive understatement. Several of Mauricio Pochettino’s starters made real positive arguments for increased playing time moving forward. Lucas Moura, in particular, emphatically announced his arrival at Tottenham with a splendid second half goal.

Unfortunately, more of Pochettino’s players showed precisely why they haven’t been trusted to play big matches lately. Toby Alderweireld and Harry Winks both played absolute horrific matches. Neither player looked remotely close to finding their way back into a Premier League or Champions League starting XI.

Add it all up and Spurs were fairly lucky to earn a replay at Wembley Stadium. The draw wasn’t a complete nightmare for the club, but it does add another fixture to an already busy February for Pochettino’s men. Read on to discover which Spurs players should be very concerned after their outing at Rochdale.
