1. Sell another right back

Spurs fans might be surprised to see this suggestion after the club parted ways with Kyle Walker last summer. His horrific FA Cup mistake not withstanding, it’s proven to be a poor choice by Spurs.

Nonetheless, Pochettino may elect to part with arguably his first choice right back again this summer. Kieran Trippier has been an adequate replacement for Walker, but he’s not going to get any better. The combination of his advanced age and limited athleticism mean he’s reached his full potential.

Tottenham also invested significant money to bring Serge Aurier in from PSG last summer. The plan is almost certainly for him to overtake Trippier as Pochettino’s first choice. Even if he isn’t ready for that role yet, he should settle in nicely after he gets a full preseason under his belt.

Of course, the real reason for making this ruthless move is because Kyle Walker-Peters is being wasted this season. He is ready to play meaningful Premier League football. Getting rid of Trippier would allow the club to make money, and clear room for arguably their most talented young player. One way or another, Walker-Peters deserves more playing time next season. Selling high on Trippier could be the best way to get the English starlet onto the pitch.
