5. The annoyance of Rochdale

Tottenham believed they were poised to escape Rochdale last weekend with a narrow victory. Then the magic of the FA Cup jumped up and bit Spurs in the backside. Look for Tottenham’s first team to take out their anger and frustration on Palace.

In fairness, much of Pochettino’s first team spent the majority of the Rochdale match on the bench. Harry Kane and Dele Alli only came on as substitutes. Christian Eriksen missed the entire match. All figure to be involved from the opening whistle at Selhurst on Sunday.

That means that Palace will have to deal with a well-rested Spurs squad for the most part. That’s one problem. The second problem is that the Tottenham players who were involved against Rochdale are going to be desperate to exact their revenge on Palace.

Players in either boat are going to be primed and ready to handle whatever Palace squad shows up on Sunday. Whether it’s a product of quality rest or the bitter taste of the Rochdale draw, it’s bad news for the Eagles squad.
