Attacking midfielder-Christian Eriksen

The talented Dane didn’t feature at all at Rochdale which makes him an obvious selection for this starting XI. He’ll pop up all over the pitch in support of Kane, but expect him to spend the majority of his time in a central role.

More from Playing for 90

He should really benefit from a bit of rest. Prior to the arrival of Lucas and Erik Lamela’s recovery from injury, he was forced to play every important match for Pochettino. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to playing with legitimate rest.

Attacking midfielder-Dele Alli

Dele is another player who has an amazing memory against Crystal Palace. His volley against the Eagles still dazzles Spurs fans every time they have an occasion to see it.

Pochettino will hope the English midfielder can recreate some of that magic today. He’s the one Tottenham player who can play a hideous match and still pop up with a crucial goal. Consistency is still a bit of an issue for him, but he has more than enough quality to star against Roy Hodgson’s troops.

Attacking midfielder-Heung-Min Son

Lucas Moura may feel like his goal at Rochdale qualifies him to start this match. In truth, I agree with the Brazilian in a vacuum. However, Son’s overall contributions this season give him a stronger case to start the match than Tottenham’s most recent arrival.

He’ll have to play a quality match to keep Lucas on the bench for much longer though. A goal against Palace would do wonders for Son’s spot in Pochettino’s starting XI moving forward.
