Robert Lewandowski is being linked with a move to the Premier League once again, this time it is Chelsea who are reportedly interested in signing him.

According to Sky Sports, the Poland international wants to leave Bayern Munich in the summer and is attracted by a possible move to the English Premier League. Chelsea are keen on signing Lewandowski to lead their charge next season. And while it remains to be seen if the Blues can actually convince Bayern Munich to sell him, Lewandowski is exactly the striker Chelsea need at the moment.

They side Alvaro Morata in the summer after being snubbed by Romelu Lukaku, who joined Manchester United. But the Spaniard has failed to hit the ground running at Stamford Bridge. Antonio Conte is reportedly unhappy with his Spanish number 9, who has scored 12 times in 35 appearances this season. While Morata is a very talented striker, he just doesn’t have the physical or mental attributes to survive in the English Premier League.

Morata is considered to be too soft, especially compared to the hard-hitting Diego Costa, who led Chelsea to the title last season. But Lewandowski is a different beast. The 29-year old thrives on pressure and loves to perform when the going gets tough. He is already one of the best strikers in Europe and has the attributes to thrive in England, both physically and mentally. Lewandowski is having a stunning season so far, having scored 29 times in 34 appearances for Bayern.

Just like Lukaku (who Chelsea wanted to sign before Morata), Lewandowski is a presence both in and around the box and is one of the most complete strikers in the world. Lewandowski has developed a great relationship with Arjen Robben, who much like Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, loves getting on the ball and cutting into the middle. Not only that, Lewandowski also likes to come deep to collect the ball, which would allow Chelsea’s two wingers to get in front of him and behind defenders.

But most of all, his mentality and his will to succeed and win at all costs is what Chelsea need. Strikers need to be bullies and they must battle in every game, and so far Morata has not been able to show that. While there is still time for him to become a star, Chelsea would be better off with Lewandowski. And they will never have a better chance of signing him than in the summer.
