5. Manchester City 7-2 Stoke City

A game in which the Citizens scored seven can’t even make top four in this list of Manchester City’s best games. That only goes to show the mesmerising quality they’ve produced this season.

This was when Pep Guardiola’s men really were at their height, and were staring to form a gap between them and the rest of the top four. As you can imagine, there was some top quality attacking football shown in this match.

Gabriel Jesus, who hit the ground running at the start of the season, opened the scoring at 1-0. The goal was quickly followed by Raheem Sterling’s effort to double the lead.

David Silva managed to pull another goal before the break, poking the ball in Jack Butland’s net. The game was far from over yet, as Mame Biram Diouf pulled one back before the break.

Then, at the start of the second half, Manchester City looked shaky, and Kyle Walker ended up putting the ball in his own net. At 3-2, it would be easy for any team to crumble, but not Manchester City.

The goals came flying in, from Gabiel Jesus again, Fernandinho, Leroy Sane and last but by no means least, Bernardo Silva. The game finished 7-2, and I think it goes without saying, deservedly so.

Although he didn’t get on the score-sheet, Kevin de Bruyne was pivotal to this match. The Belgian pulled off a number of his trademark balls, and created plenty of chances for the City attackers to increase the scoring.

Manchester City’s highest scoring game, turned out to be one of Manchester City’s best games.
