2. Manchester City 3-0 Arsenal

You may be wondering which fixture I chose, because the Citizens actually beat the Gunners by a three goal margin twice within five days. Although I feel City played the better football in their Premier League match just yesterday, I opted for the Carabao Cup final.

Beating Arsenal in a cup final is never an easy task to complete. The Gunners have an incredible cup record at Wembley Stadium, but it didn’t phase Pep Guardiola. His side became only the second in recent history to snatch a trophy out of Arsenal’s grasp.

Quite frankly, Arsenal were embarrassed and belittled. Many would have predicted the Gunners to have a chance in this matchup, but Sergio Aguero’s early goal made it incredibly difficult.

After a goal kick was made by Claudio Bravo, the Argentine got the better of Shkodran Mustafi, and chipped David Ospina who had come off his line. He loves a goal against Arsenal, and he once again came up with the goods for Manchester City. The first half ended at 1-0 to the favourites.

Coming out into the second half, Arsenal only looked worse for wear. It was a goal from Vincent Kompany, who was a doubt to start in this match, which steered the game in Manchester City’s hands.

Not long after the Belgian scored, David Silva, another loyal servant to City, got the better of Arsenal’s shaky defence.

The reason this was so impressive is that the game was incredibly open. There was a chance for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to run between the lines but he was cut out by the vigilant force which is Vincent Kompany.
