Everton have shown an interest in Arsene Wenger, who looks to be out-of-favour at Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger has been at Arsenal for many years now, 22 years to be precise. Having managed at a top club like Arsenal for such a sustained period of time, he’s bound to be an expert of the game. That said, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Everton are interested in Arsene Wenger.

However, the Arsenal faithful have lost their love for the Frenchman in recent years. Though he consistently provided Champions League football for 20 years, as well as lifting six trophies in the last four years, he’s failed to keep up with his competition.

Arsenal are known for playing a linguistic style of football under Arsene Wenger, but they can’t even rely on that anymore. The North London club are at risk of failing to qualify for Champions League football for a second consecutive season, unless they can progress via the Europa League.

Another team who are facing tough times is Everton. Since Sam Allardyce took over, things have been incredibly inconsistent for the Toffees. That’s why reports from Daily Star come as no surprise, who claim Everton are interested in Arsene Wenger.

The English manager has made some impressive signings, including Cenk Tosun and Theo Walcott. However, he feels as if the big money signings have let him down.

Everton sit in 11th place of the Premier League, and they need to focus on avoiding relegation. There’s no denying that these concerns are a lot more sincere than those of Arsenal. If Arsene Wenger was manager of the Toffees, they wouldn’t be in such a position.

Sam Allardyce has never been known for feeling any emotional attachment to the clubs he has served. Everton is no exception, which is why there are many shouts for him to be sacked at the end of the season, if he doesn’t choose to leave himself.

Arsene Wenger, despite his age, would be the ideal replacement. At Arsenal, he hasn’t had much financial backing, despite having one of the richest boards in the world. This has been one of the main reasons of his recent shortcomings at Arsenal. The Everton hierarchy have shown keen intent in providing the goods for the managers this season.
