Chelsea analysis: 5 things the Blues must do to secure UCL football

No Frills

Antonio Conte’s team needs to be pragmatic. They need to win every single one of the last nine matches that they have if they’re going to save this season. If it means winning every single match 1-0, then that’s what they have to do.

They can’t be worried about entertaining the masses at this point. Let’s face it, City will do that. They’re playing marvelously and for that matter, so are Liverpool and Tottenham (though to a lesser extent).

Chelsea have now lost the luxury of getting to play that way. They must kill every ounce of romanticism from their game and be pragmatic. Score goals, win matches, actually defend properly.
