Chelsea analysis: 5 things the Blues must do to secure UCL football
N’Golo Kante
Chelsea need the Frenchman back. He is obviously the most influential player in world football. Before Kante, Chelsea were 10th. With Kante, they were Champions. With him out against City, Chelsea looked like a pub-side who were playing against, well, Manchester City.
This is a tough situation because Kante has been dealing with a slight health issue. The player recently collapsed in training due to an unknown circumstance. With the death of Fiorentina captain Davide Astori reminding people just how important it is for heath to be taken seriously, it’s important that Chelsea don’t rush Kante back. He’s a human being first. A total destroyer on the football pitch, second.
That said, it’s obvious when Chelsea miss him. Without Kante, Chelsea are a quarter of the team that they are with him. If Chelsea are going to pull of the improbable, the impossible, the in-another-word-that-describes-the-situation-with-dramaticism, then they’re going to need their best player.
