Left back-Ben Davies

It should also be mentioned that Danny Rose is a serious doubt due to injury. Even if he were fully fit, Pochettino clearly prefers Davies at this juncture.

The Welshman has arguably outperformed expectations more than any other Tottenham player this season. He’s never going to be an elite athlete, but he’s done everything else at an elite level for Pochettino.

The Swansea match-up should be pretty comfortable for Davies. Spurs figure to have plenty of the ball and that means Davies will have the chance to get forward and contribute to his club’s attack. The interchange play between Davies and Son could come into play even though the Korean is playing as Tottenham’s striker.

Right back-Serge Aurier

This is another spot where Pochettino has a tough choice to make. Aurier is the more athletic of his two top right backs, but Kieran Trippier could really hurt Swansea with his ability to cross the ball.

In the end, Aurier gets the nod here since Tottenham will be playing without a true target man. If Llorente makes the starting XI, then starting Trippier becomes necessary. Since I’m projecting Son to lead the line, I’m going with Aurier to add even more athleticism to the Tottenham starting XI.
