Davinson Sanchez-6.5

If you go back and rewatch this match you can’t help but notice the shaky start Sanchez endured. Abraham really gave him problems for the first 15 minutes or so. In particular, Sanchez struggled to handle the young Englishman in the air.

As the match went on, Sanchez got his feet under him and played much better. He bailed Vorm out on a couple of occasions in the second half with solid headers out of the box. It wasn’t Sanchez’s best match, but he did enough to help Spurs earn their clean sheet.

Jan Vertonghen-7

Vertonghen’s performance was really difficult to evaluate in this match. Very honestly, he didn’t have a ton to do. He made the challenges required of him, but he wasn’t stressed at all by the Swansea attack.

Ultimately it was a boring, but solid affair for the Belgian centre back. He certainly enjoyed the comfortable win but he knows more will be required from him down the line.
