The Istanbul Trivela: Besiktas vs Fenerbahce (February 25, 2018)

Quaresma has experienced intermittent success during his career. A highly touted young player, he enjoyed big money moves to Europe’s best teams, but only enjoyed consistent playing time with teams like Porto and Besiktas. At Besiktas, Quaresma is able to be himself in a weaker league.

He returned to Istanbul in 2015 and has enjoyed success winning two Turkish Süper Lig titles. Earlier this season in a derby against a fellow Istanbul club, Fenerbahce, Quaresma put Besiktas up one with thirteen minutes left with another trademark trivela.

The trivela is an audacious skill which is the culmination of talent, hours of practice and a cavalier attitude. The trivela is a combination of artistry and athleticism that only a character like Quaresma could make an effective staple of his game.

Does Quaresma have a left-foot? We will never know, because he has the trivela.
