Arsenal came up against Stoke City this afternoon, and despite many predicting it to be a cagey affair, the Gunners emerged as 3-0 winners.

Arsenal are notoriously known for not coming up with the goods when returning from international breaks. However, the story was different today. This post will run through the Arsenal player ratings vs Stoke City, in which the home side prevailed as 3-0 winners.

The first half was very nervous from Arsenal’s point of view, as they gave the ball away far too many times. They pride themselves on their fluid, free-flowing attacking football, but it just wasn’t happening for them.

It took them a while to find their rhythm, and they came out in the second half full of confidence. Arsene Wenger will be happy with how his team fared, despite losing a lot of confidence in the first half.

A number of players were rested as Wenger had his eyes set on the Europa League fixture on Thursday night. However, it was still an XI capable of beating the struggling Stoke City side, and beat them they did.
