Centre back-Jan Vertonghen

There’s been a lot of talk about whether or not Toby Alderweireld will get back into the starting XI tomorrow but he isn’t Tottenham’s best centre back. That honour goes to his Belgian partner Jan Vertonghen.

He’s been an absolute rock for Pochettino all season long. Vertonghen will need to be at his best to outfox the Chelsea attack. Watch for him to battle with countryman Eden Hazard all match long. The winner of that clash could determine the match’s winner.

Centre back-Davinson Sanchez

The idea of a 21-year-old Colombian knocking Alderweireld out of the starting XI would have elicited laughter before the season began. Amazingly, that’s just what has happened for Pochettino.

Sanchez is the perfect defender to play against Chelsea’s counter attacking style. His pace and willingness to grapple with Alvaro Morata will do quite a bit to liberate the Tottenham midfield. It’s a dangerous tactic to leave him one v one against talented attackers, but it’s what Pochettino has done all season long.
