Attacking midfielder-Christian Eriksen

There’s no question that Tottenham will deploy Eriksen in the central attacking role to start this match. He will interchange with Pochettino’s other attacking options during various times in the match, but he’s at his best in the middle. That allows him the entire field to work with.

The classy Dane has been enjoying a terrific run of form as of late. If there’s any valid criticism to his game, it’s that he sometimes disappears in big fixtures. Look for Eriksen to do everything he can to make sure he silences those doubts at Chelsea.

Attacking midfielder-Dele Alli

If you read Dele Alli’s name and thought about diving, I’d encourage you to do some research on Sadio Mane’s performance for Liverpool yesterday. Now, on to how Dele can help Spurs win this match.

It’s pretty simple actually, he needs to find a way to put the ball into the back of the net. He’s been a much better creator this season, but without Kane in the starting lineup he needs to focus on scoring. Dele must be hell-bent on sliding the ball past Thibaut Courtois.

Attacking midfielder-Erik Lamela

I realize a significant portion of Tottenham’s fan base wants to see Lucas Moura start this match, but I can’t see it happening. Lamela is an excellent choice based on his offensive ability and his phenomenal work rate without the ball.

For the record, I wouldn’t expect Lamela to finish the match. He’s far too likely to pick up a yellow card in the first half to last the full 90 minutes. Lamela’s job will be to set the tone. Lucas can be trusted to come on and try to win the match for Spurs in the closing moments.
