Christian Eriksen was brilliant for Tottenham once again

Any Tottenham fans expecting a sharp performance after last weekend’s emotional win at Chelsea were fooling themselves. Predictably, the club looked off the pace at Stoke today. Fortunately, Christian Eriksen’s brilliance was enough to earn his squad all three points against the Potters.

To put it bluntly, there are quite a few members of the Tottenham squad who owe Eriksen a massive gift. As terrific as the talented Dane was, several of his teammates were every bit as awful. In other words, don’t expect the player ratings to be all that rosy across the board.

There were, however, a few highlights. Eriksen’s brace certainly earned him high marks but he had some offensive help. Dele Alli followed up his stellar play at Stamford Bridge with another excellent effort. The patience he showed in setting up Eriksen’s opening goal was nothing short of outstanding.

In the end, Mauricio Pochettino will be happy to leave Stoke with three points, but he’ll be irate at the poor play of some of his regulars. Read on to discover which Tottenham stars have the most to fear in training this week.
