Alex Iwobi – 7/10

Alex Iwobi has been under a lot of criticism this season, but he played well today. He bagged two assists, playing a number of incisive passes through the Southampton defense. A good performance from the Nigerian.

Reiss Nelson – 6/10

The young Englishman’s full debut was cut short. He didn’t do much to ruin his reputation, as he knocked the ball past opposing defenders a number of times. He can have his head held high after becoming Arsenal’s youngest player to start a Premier League game since Serge Gnabry in 2013.

Danny Welbeck – 8/10

Danny Welbeck tops my Arsenal player ratings vs Southampton, and it’s hard to dispute this. He bagged the important brace to see Arsenal over the line, The Englishman piled consistent pressure on the Southampton defense.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 7/10

It’s becoming a regular occurrence that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gets a high rating, and in my Arsenal player ratings vs Southampton, it’s no different. The Gabonese international poked home the equalizer in improvised fashion, and his link-up play was exceptional today.
