Since his arrival in North London, the Gabonese international has been loving life, as he’s scoring goals for fun.
During a busy, but successful January transfer window for Arsenal, they managed to pick up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. It was a transfer which nobody saw coming, but he’s certainly proved his worth.
Aubameyang is often known for his troublesome nature, particularly in his days at Borussia Dortmund. This is why many critics were quick to write him off, as Arsenal aren’t the type of club to deal with players of this nature.
Along came all the claims that he would ruin the mood in the dressing room if things don’t go his way, but this has proven to be incorrect.
In fact, he has had quite the opposite start. He is always looking to get the best out of his fellow attackers. This was indicated when he had the chance to wrap up a hat-trick against Stoke City, but instead gave the penalty to Alexandre Lacazette.
Still, of course, people found a way to criticize Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for this gesture. This is to be expected, though, as every new player in the Premier League finds an absurd way to be criticized.
In his post-match interview, he claimed that by giving the penalty to Lacazette, the Frenchman’s confidence would hopefully be increased. Arsenal had an important Europa League fixture with CSKA Moscow which Aubameyang was ineligible to play for, and just like he suggested, Alexandre Lacazette was on the score-sheet.
Just recently, Arsenal took on Southampton in the Premier League, and after going a goal down, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leveled the scoring. It was a day full of smiles for the striker, but he had no bigger smile than when Danny Welbeck scored his goal.
He has had an excellent start to life in England. His goal-scoring record suggested this would be the case, however many still predicted him to ‘flop’.
It was the partnership with Henrikh Mkhitaryan which Arsenal fans were most looking forward to, and rightly so. During their time with Borussia Dortmund, the attacking duo were a force to be reckoned with. So far at Arsenal, they have already assisted each other and shown many promising signs.

Amid the backlash of Harry Kane trying to take a goal from his own teammate, it’s important to recognize there are still unselfish strikers in the Premier League. Roberto Firmino, Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, to name just a few.
