Sky Sports’ Spanish football expert Guillem Balague believes Gareth Bale will stay at Real Madrid
In football, if you achieve a certain level of success and notoriety for incredible skill and entertainment it is comparable to being a rock star. Gareth Bale is a rock star.
The Welshman is on that superstar echelon. Along with Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar and possibly soon joined by Mohamed Salah.
I implore him to return to the Premier League. Come back: raising standards in the best league in the world considerably with your incredible talent.
Unfortunately, it looks as though my wish – and similarly other Premier League fans’ – will not be granted. According to Guillem Balague, Bale will stay in Spain.

The Sky Sports pundit believes the 28-year-old will remain a Galactico and fight for his place. That sentiment was echoed by his selection for the clash against Juventus.

Balague said of the situation:
"“Real Madrid are doing the kind of thing they do when they want to get rid of a player…you’re going to have push him because he doesn’t want to leave.”– Guillem Balague (Via: Sky Sports)"
Manchester United amongst others will keep tabs on Bale. Although his agent, Jonathan Barnett, this week said “Gareth loves Real Madrid and Real Madrid love Gareth”.
Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane has frequently excluded Bale from a starting place. He has appeared 7 times as a substitute this term.
In the most recent match, Bale did not stake his claim to his position: he was substituted at half-time. Ronaldo’s penalty assured their qualification.
The French boss stated he thinks his starlet will stay. Zidane had told the press that his forward was disappointed not to be selected for the first-leg against Juve.
"“I understand that he is not in a good mood, that’s normal,”– Zinedine Zidane (Via: Sky Sports)"
Even as a player at a super-power-club, it is understandable for a player of Bale’s quality to question his future. If he does not play regularly, in the big games especially, he will leave. A line of top clubs will clamour for his signature.
A less than subtle alert to prospective new teams came when the Wales player was visibly unmoved by teammate Ronaldo’s celebrated overhead-kick.
