With Anthony Martial likely on his way out this summer, one French club is eager to jump at the chance to sign him.

Since breaking into the first team at Manchester United, Anthony Martial has created some magical moments. His Messi-like movements combined with his strong finishing ability made him a very tough player to mark.

He often links up well with his supporting striker, playing dangerous passes quickly between the opposing defense. For some reason, though, he has been out of favor for Jose Mourinho, and now looks to be moving to greener pastures.

This means Martial is attracting interest from clubs all around the world who are eager to sign the talented young Frenchman. This includes his boyhood club of Lyon. Martial played for their B-team and their senior squad for just a year, but was quickly bought by Monaco. Now, he could be on his way back to where his career started.

Lyon is having a fantastic year, and there is a plethora of young talent at the club. From Mariano and Memphis Depay in attack to Nabil Fekir and Houssem Aouar in the midfield, Lyon is showing the world just how well they can develop and cultivate players in their system. This would be fantastic for Anthony Martial, who at times seems to be missing minor details in his game that will take him to the next level of greatness.

Lyon has been a feeder club for many other teams for quite some time, producing incredibly talented players over the years. If Martial was to sign with Lyon at the moment, it would seem that he would run into a similar problem that he has at United; playing in a position that has more than enough depth. This could change come the summer time, though, as Lyon could be selling some wingers of their own.

More from Manchester United

All of Lyon’s young and vibrant attack force is being watched by the top clubs in Europe, and it will not be a surprise if they let one or two of them go. Lyon often makes a great sum from selling their players, so splashing a bit to bring Martial to the club should not be a problem.

It would leave Manchester United without one of the most exciting young prospects in the Premier League at the moment, but they seem to only want immediate results. Alexis Sanchez is the case in point, as the left winger took Martial’s minutes the moment he joined the club.

It would be very wise for Anthony Martial to leave United, even if it was not for Lyon. He is clearly not getting the playtime he needs to develop, and going to a club with Lyon’s reputation would be great for his career. United could ask for an exorbitant fee, but Lyon should not pass on the opportunity to bring back this blossoming winger.
