Mesut Ozil – 7/10

The German had a lot of possession and he played his usual balls in behind. His teammates simply weren’t up to the task, which is a shame considering his good record against his former rivals.

Alexandre Lacazette – 7.5/10

He got the opening goal courtesy of a fine header. He gave the Arsenal fans hope but it wasn’t to be. He did well to beat his opposing defenders, a few times in the box actually, on another night his performance would have inspired others.

Danny Welbeck – 6/10

He tried, I guess. He pressed the deep Atletico line and there were a few occasions in which he won the loose balls. Overall though, his impact was minimal and Wenger would have hoped for more.

Strangely, there were no substitutes brought on by Arsene Wenger, so this concludes my Arsenal player ratings vs Atletico Madrid. Are there any you disagree on? If so, feel free to discuss.
