Arsenal suffered a disappointing loss courtesy of a late goal to Manchester United.

Arsene Wenger played a very weakened team against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United. With the game against Atletico Madrid on his mind, it’s hard to argue with the decision. However, perhaps inevitably, the plan didn’t work out.

The team of mainly youngsters did well, to be fair to them. They certainly shown a lot more grit and determination than a number of the senior players usually do. However, they were caught out by two crosses.

The first was from Romelu Lukaku, who picked out Alexis Sanchez of all people. Luckily from Arsenal’s perspective, the Chilean only found the post, but the ball soon fell to Paul Pogba, who was never going to miss from such a distance.

Manchester United failed to generate chances after scoring, and they were seen off by an impressive Arsenal defense. Henrikh Mkhitaryan found the net in the second half to get the equalizer, slotting the ball into David de Gea’s far post.

It looked like the game was settled, but of course nothing is guaranteed between the two sides. A ball over the top was met by Marouane Fellaini, of course, who nodded the ball over David Ospina, who had an impressive game otherwise.

Without further ado, here are my Arsenal player ratings vs Manchester United.
