Harry Kane looked like himself for Tottenham

Tottenham headed into yesterday’s match against Watford needing three points. Fortunately for Spurs, the return of Harry Kane to something near full fitness helped push the squad past Watford with relative ease.

Yes, Watford has some good chances to score, but their quality in front of Hugo Lloris was pretty poor. That allowed the Tottenham defence to earn a clean sheet even if it wasn’t their most dominating performance of the year.

In all fairness, Spurs were gifted their opening goal of the first half. Watford’s keeper, Orestis Karnezis made an absolute meal out of a Kieran Trippier cross. Christian Eriksen tapped a neat pass across to Dele Alli who buried the easy chance. Without that gaffe, things could have been much tighter.

In the end, Tottenham were the more clinical side and that powered them to a comfortable 2-0 win. It wasn’t the prettiest match of the year for Spurs though. Read on to discover which players stood out and which Spurs slumbered through a sleepy win against the Hornets.
