Arsenal suffered a disappointed loss, when they needed to score against Atletico Madrid.

The Gunners traveled to Madrid last night in search of an away goal after they conceded late on to Antoine Griezmann at the Emirates. It was always going to be a difficult ask, considering Atletico Madrid’s home record this season.

They suffered a disappointing start to the match, as captain Laurent Koscielny was stretchered off injured. It looked like like a real painful injury to his Achilles, a problem he has had many times before.

Arsenal were in search of a leader, but they don’t possess any strong enough for such an occasion.

Hector Bellerin was caught napping and a familiar foe of Arsenal’s, Diego Costa, ran through on goal to beat David Ospina right before the half. It was disappointing for Arsenal, considering they had started the game off well.

It didn’t change the complexion of the tie too much, as Arsenal still needed to score just once to keep themselves in the tie. However, it wasn’t to be. Arsene Wenger will end his final season trophy-less, which is by no means a fair summary of how his spell with Arsenal has been.

Without further ado, here are my Arsenal player ratings vs Atletico Madrid.
