Arsenal played their final game under Arsene Wenger, and they got a surprising away win.

Arsenal played Huddersfield Town in their final game of the season and their last game under Arsene Wenger. It was a meaningless game for both teams, as nothing would change in the grand scheme of things.

However, that doesn’t mean the two teams didn’t battle and put in a good display, Arsenal just got the better of the Terriers courtesy of a sloppy blip in defense.

It was Alexandre Lacazette who played the ball through to Aaron Ramsey, who drilled the ball across goal. Whether it was a shot or a well-timed pass remains to be seen, but either way it was Wenger’s final signing in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who pounced home.

The game remained at 1-0 throughout the match, despite a late scare from Zanka. David Ospina won the save in terrific fashion, but the defender was quick to pounce on the ball, however it only resulted in an Arsenal free kick.

Arsene Wenger was seen off in a way which isn’t familiar to him, as he’s accustomed to free-flowing football. Still, he can walk away with his head held high and his coat zipped higher, after what has been an emphatic tenure from the Frenchman.

How did the players fare in Arsene’s send off?
