Maurizio Sarri is a keen advocate of the Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain.

There has been a lot of talk lately about whether or not Chelsea will appoint Maurizio Sarri to replace Antonio Conte. The manager has brought exciting football with him to Napoli, which is quite the opposite to Conte’s time at Chelsea.

According to Daily Mail, if it’s Sarri who lands the Chelsea job opening, then he may bring former striker Gonzalo Higuain along with him. The two have worked together in Italy, and Chelsea fans will hope they can reignite a strong partnership in London.

They report that Chelsea will need to be fast if they want to appoint Sarri, as his release clause needs to be triggered by the end of May. While their focus remains on the FA Cup final, the board will have a keen eye on the managerial situation.

Antonio Conte is falling further and further out of favor, and he didn’t give himself any leeway by qualifying for the Champions League, either. He is known to have feuds with the board over transfer allocation, which is never going to go well.

However, if Chelsea are looking for a calm and composed manager, then Sarri isn’t the best to call. In fact, Higuain isn’t the most composed character either.

The manager is known for being quite the demanding coach, and he isn’t afraid to make his thoughts heard. Higuain on the other hand, has always struggled with his composure on the big stage. His performances in the World Cup and Champions League finals will always haunt him, and they’ve definitely had an impact.

Alvaro Morata hasn’t had the best debut season after being bought by Antonio Conte. He got off to a good start, but his season soon tailed off and the goal draught came pouring in.

While there’s a large section of the Chelsea faithful who wish to give him another chance, many others have given up with him. A goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester United will certainly boost his confidence heading into next season, wherever he may end up.
