Paul Pogba needs to stop trying too hard
As always, Paul Pogba was the subject of plenty of debate throughout the season. The Frenchman put in some match winning performances, but was also abject at times. His injury in September, which kept him out for two months did not help matters, as United’s season basically unraveled without Pogba.
Despite being in and out of form, Pogba managed to score six goals and provide 12 assists this season. Some of his performances were impeccable and showed us why United paid 89 million pounds for him in 2016.
In games like the one against Manchester City, Pogba played his natural game, and instead of trying to make fancy passes, he took it easy and played with more composure. As a result, he dominated the midfield and scored twice. However far too often, Pogba tries too hard. The 25-year-old decides to take it upon himself to do everything. Especially against smaller teams, Pogba tries to be too flashy and tries to show more style than substance.
Pogba makes United tick and helps them win matches whenever he is on his game. On his day, Pogba is unstoppable. However when he tries too hard, he can be a passenger in the team. Pogba just needs to stop trying to hard and add some consistency to the game. If he can do that, he can lead United to the Premier League title next season.
