Real Madrid 3-1 Liverpool: Three things we learned in Champions League final

Real Madrid dominated Liverpool in the Champions League final.

Liverpool had high hopes for this year’s Champions League final, as it’s a competition which has served them well. However, any hopes their fans may have had were crushed in emphatic fashion by Real Madrid.

Los Blancos may have got lucky, but it’s a tale of their season. The game was level in the first half, with both teams having opportunities to grab the opening goal. However, the goals didn’t come flying in until the second half.

Mohamed Salah was forced off early on through injury, which was a real shame to see. There was a lot of emphasis on the newly-dubbed Egyptian king heading into this final, but a bad tackle from none other than Sergio Ramos cut his game short.

This was bound to have detrimental impact on Liverpool, although it shouldn’t be the case in a Champions League final. Perhaps Liverpool’s heavy reliance is one thing we can learn from this classic game, but what are the others?
