2. Gareth Bale has what it takes

Have we ever seen a cameo like that in a Champions League final in our lifetimes?

The Welshman was simply amazing, there’s no other way to describe his belated performance. He shown many signs of brilliance when coming off the bench, including a Puskas candidate inside his first two minutes.

Bicycle kicks are always special, but to do it in a Champions League final, two minutes after coming on, to put your side ahead, is on a different level. Albeit Loris Karius was dreadful on the night, it doesn’t take anything away from Bale’s audacity, and more importantly, skill.

He also played an excellent trivela through ball to Karim Benzema, which isn’t even being spoke about due to his other tremendous inputs. The ball would have been special even if wasn’t played with the outside of his boot, but full of confidence, he had to try it.

His second goal was more of a hit and hope, but it worked. This time it was courtesy of poor goalkeeping from Karius, but yet again you could see the confidence oozing out of him when he took the shot on.

He has a big summer ahead of him, as he misses out on the World Cup and speculation only arises over his future. Many clubs are looking to sign him, including Premier League suitors. Judging by last night, it’s hard to argue with the heavy interest.
