Karim Benzema: 7.5/10

Great instinct for Real Madrid’s first goal – despite the dreadful error from Loris Karius – and repaid Zinedine Zidane for placing his faith in him.

Might not have the energy to scamper around the pitch like his fellow teammates, however some sublime hold-up play and a fortuitous goal means Benzema has finished a problematic campaign with optimism.

Cristiano Ronaldo: 6.5/10

For once it wasn’t Cristiano Ronaldo catapulting his name into lights on the biggest stage. A quiet night for the usually imposing Portuguese, and he passed the baton to Bale who might even have trumped his immense overhead kick against Juventus in the quarters.

Ronaldo’s mere presence on the pitch was probably enough to motivate his teammates, and though it wasn’t as glittering as he might have hoped (on a personal level at least), Ronaldo can add another accolade to his brimming cabinet.
