Centre half: Jan Vertonghen: 7/10

Will probably be remembered in this game for producing one of the best opportunities. Curling long range strike forced Beto into a decent stop, and did everything necessary at the back.

With a few fine tackles and blocks, the Spurs centre half looks a certainty for Belgium’s opening game against Panama on June 18.

Centre half: Vincent Kompany: 6/10

Brought off ten minutes into second half so didn’t get the usual 90 minutes he is used to. Stubborn exhibition from title-winner Kompany, wasn’t the busiest but put in a strong shift to mostly keep Portugal out.

Portugal’s Goncalo Guedes got away a couple of times but his poor finishing ensured the scores remained level.

Centre half: Toby Alderweireld: 7/10

Made an essential block on Guedes midway through the second half. Problematic, injury-plagued season with Tottenham but looks fresh and ready for the World Cup.
