Left midfielder: Yannick Carrasco: 6/10

Started out wide but often found himself in a central role. He has had a difficult season in China with Dalian Yifang, sitting in the bottom two with them.

Was surrounded by far more talent than he is used to at club level, however didn’t take advantage. One dazzling run and shot into the side netting the only notable moment for Carrasco, who was hauled off at the interval.

Centre midfielder: Mousa Dembele: 7/10

Marshalled the midfield well. Another to come off at the break, but was a rock in the centre and allowed Kevin de Bruyne to get forward. Really reliable player for both club and country.

Centre midfielder:Kevin de Bruyne: 5.5/10

Never found his characteristic range. Made an incredible impact for Manchester City this season with some sumptuous passes, however nothing seemed to come off here.

A couple of deft free kicks and through balls showed what he can do, though the consistency was worlds away from what we are used to.

Right midfielder: Thomas Meunier: 6/10

A night of opposites for Meunier. On one hand, an optimistic, encouraging display that saw him bomb down the flank on many occasions, especially in the first half. Unfortunately, the final product was rarely there, starving strikers of service. Everything he put in was thumped straight out again.
