Leroy Sane’s exclusion speaks volumes of Germany’s ability

Leroy Sane’s absence from the Germany World Cup squad has received quite the mixed reaction.
I am on the side which is confused over Leroy Sane not making the World Cup squad. He was one of the best players in the Premier League, and making a World Cup with the current champions will have worked wonders for his career.
However, I also understand that Joachim Low isn’t one to take risks, and he likes to stick with what he knows best. One thing’s for sure, the German manager isn’t messing around.
Low committed his future to the German national team, after speculation over his future. Arsenal were rumored to be interested in him, but he quickly dismissed those rumors.
When he signed the contract, many knew that this was only the beginning. He lives and breathes Germany, so he won’t let the World Cup fall out of his grasp easily.
When a manager loves their team that much, fans will often see him make rash decisions. Leaving Sane in England is certainly a rash decision, after the Manchester City man picked up the PFA young player of the year award.
He was part of a historic title-winning side managed by none other than Pep Guardiola. Playing under a coach of such caliber, he is bound to learn a thing or two. However, his efforts simply weren’t enough to get him the call.
To be fair to him, he took it well. He took to social media to make his thoughts known, in a heart-felt message to let the German faithful know he is still with them, and he will be cheering on his country.
This was amazing to see from a young player, especially when the likes of Jack Wilshere are reacting out of spite and jealousy.
It only emphasizes the talent which Germany have heading into this World Cup. The world champions are tipped as one of the favorites to win this competition, and it’s not hard to see why.
Even without Sane, the squad looks terrific. He will only use this as motivation to work hard for the European Championships in 2020.
Sane joins a plethora of talent to miss out on the World Cup. Some of these names include Alexandre Lacazette, Mauro Icardi and Anthony Martial.
