Mohamed Salah has endured quite the breakthrough season, and it may have earned him a move to Barcelona.
Liverpool reached the Champions League final, in what was a shock to all across the globe. A particular player in Mohamed Salah helped them achieve such a feat, which won the hearts of many.
Salah also helped his country to qualify for the World Cup, thanks to a late penalty. The newly-dubbed Egyptian king slotted home with great aplomb, a story of his great season.
In the Champions League final, he fell victim to a heavy challenge by Sergio Ramos. Talks are still ongoing as to whether or not the Spaniard meant anything malicious, but it was certainly a worrying time for Salah.
Not only did Liverpool suffer the wrath of missing their star player, Egypt fans were desperately surfing the web for news on the injury. Luckily, he is set to be fit for the World Cup, although he may miss the first game.
According to AS, he may have something else on his mind. The outlet report that Salah has been offered to Barcelona by his officials, and of course he is tempted.
Although he has committed his future to Liverpool before, it’s always easy to give into the temptation when Barcelona come knocking.
He wasn’t swayed by Real Madrid, but Barcelona appear to interest him. Perhaps it’s to get revenge on Ramos, as the two would battle in upcoming El Clasicos.
The forward could form quite the partnership with Lionel Messi and former teammate Philippe Coutinho. He never got the opportunity to work with Luis Suarez at Liverpool, but I’m sure the Uruguayan has kept an eye on him.
Liverpool will, perhaps inevitably, give their upmost to keeping him at the club. He is their prized possession, and crucial to how well they fare in the future.
After Roberto Firmino committed his future to the club, the Anfield faithful will want to ensure the same happens with Salah.
He is a very electrifying player, who loves to get in behind opposing full backs. His menacing runs will suit the creativity of Coutinho, and his unselfishness will suit the finishing ability of Messi.
He was signed only a year ago, which is a positive for Liverpool fans. Times are exciting at the club right now, so it will take some serious thinking should he decide to join Barcelona.
If Barcelona do arise to the offer, then Salah’s head will of course be turned.
