After hearing the breaking news of Harry Kane’s new mega contract you can infer that Tottenham are building for the future. Here we’ll take a look at a few other players who deserve a new deal as well.

Mousa Dembélé

Dembele is on of the first players that comes to mind if you’re looking to build a team for the future. Though he is 30 years old, the Tottenham man provides solidity to the midfield and defense.

All the players do so much for the team. It’s hard to see only one player being rewarded. He’s been with the club since 2012. Making 171 appearances, scoring 7 within that time. It’s been long overdue for him to earn more money.

Furthermore, Dembele has made 39 appearances for the club this season. Maintaining a passing percentage of 89.7, average tackles of 1.3 per game, and interceptions of 1.1 per game according to WhoScored.

Dembele is currently on £80,000 up until his contract expires in 2019. His salary is becoming minuscule in comparison to other player’s salaries in today’s market.

If Tottenham want to keep the Belgian, they have to work hard to offer him a new deal this summer. Many teams would be delighted to have a player of his quality on their team. They would also be able to offer him more money as well.

Christian Eriksen

Eriksen is arguably the best midfielder in Tottenham’s possession. He’s been with the club since 2013 and tallied up an insane 41 goals throughout the years.

That said, he still has many years to progress, being only 26 years of age.

The Danish midfielder has played over 47 games this season. Featuring in everything from the Champions League to the EFL Cup. He’s rallied up an impressive 14 goals and 13 assists in the 2017/2018 campaign.

Despite his efforts, his wages are limited to £75,000 a week up until 2020. His wages are even more astonishing than Dembele’s.

A young midfielder with powerful attacking qualities will attract the attention of the best in the world. And that is exactly what is happening.

Barcelona have been keeping an eye on Eriksen. If their main target of Griezmann falls through, Barcelona have the money and power to pry him away from the Premier League.

Heung Min Son

Son has been electric in the Premier League. Even though you don’t hear his name as much as Kane’s, he’s right up there with the best forwards in the league. His dribbling and shooting range dubbed him the nick name “Sonaldo”.

After appearing in 53 games this season, he’s racked up 18 goals and 11 assists. His numbers are phenomenal.

He’s a stronghold in Tottenham’s attack and they wouldn’t have come as far as they have without him.

The South Korean is on £85,000 up until 2020. After joining in 2016 he’s outdone himself with 30 goals in 99 appearances. If anyone deserves a six figure salary it’s him.

Tottenham are in a delicate spot with not only Son, Eriksen, and Dembele; but with others on the team as well. These players help to highlight the delicate position Tottenham are in. Due to the fact the players could leave for more money, hindering the club’s progress.
