Rankings: The best 10 players to watch at the World Cup
By Kian Long
4. Mohamed Salah
Mohamed Salah has been a standout star across the world this season. He has guided his country to a World Cup, as well as Liverpool to the final of the Champions League.
He faced an injury scare in the final, but he should be fit to play for Egypt. Luckily so, as understandably they look hopeless without their shining star.
Salah will look to get in behind opposing defenders, using his goal-scorers instinct to spot the best opportunities. If he sees teammates in better spaces, he isn’t one to take the spotlight away from them, so he will more than likely square the ball to them.
His selfless style of play could prove pivotal to Egypt, although they won’t mind if he does the work himself.
Winning the Premier League’s golden boot this season and setting the record for most goals scored in a season will surely have his confidence sky high. The Egypt faithful will hope he focuses on this thought rather than his dreaded Champions League final.
There’s a reason he’s called the Egyptian king, and the world is about to witness that reason.
