ST. Harry Kane – England

The captain of the night shined on the night, and restored the belief in the hearts of the England faithful.

Harry Kane gets his fair share of plaudits, but he also gets a lot of criticism. One of the main critiques is his inability to perform on the international stage – where are they now?!

He took the game by the collar and made the most of two excellent opportunities. Okay, they weren’t the best goals in the world, but they all count.

He consistently comes up with the goods for Tottenham, so it’s excellent to see him providing similar treats for his country.

Making his World Cup debut and captaining his side at just 24 years old, he proved that he still has the deadly touch.

A lot of credit was taken away from his season due to the wonders of Mohamed Salah, but he still scored an abundance of goals.

The confidence of wearing the captain’s armband prevailed, and he gave the Three Lions the vital three points heading into the group stage.
