CM. Aleksandr Golovin – Russia
With the pressure of the world on his shoulders, Aleksandr Golovin proved why Europe’s top clubs are watching over him.
It was an emphatic display from the midfielder. He picked up a goal, matched with two assists. His goal caught the eye most, a perfected free kick in the last minute of the game.
Aside from his statistics, he still caught the eyes of many. He played very attack-minded, and his delivery into the strikers was exceptional most of the time.
Golovin looked to drag opposing defenders out as much as possible, with his trickery on the ball, proving himself a nightmare to defend against.
Huge names like Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal are monitoring his situation with CSKA Moscow. It’s not hard to see why, given his performance.
If Russia manage to progress out of this group, Golovin will have a huge part to play. Ageing at just 22 years old, he took matchweek 1 by the scruff of the neck, and was a sure starter in this combined XI.
