Cristiano Ronaldo has put on a show in this year’s World Cup. After 2 games against Spain and Morocco he now has 4 goals.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s journey began with Portugal’s opening match against Spain. The Spaniards were heavy favorites to win the match, but that didn’t stop him. He went on to put up a sensational hat-trick.

Ronaldo’s first goal against Spain came from a penalty he had won after Nacho had fouled him. He took the penalty with ease, writing his name on the score sheet.

The Real Madrid man followed up in the 44th minute with a left footed shot that De Gea ended up fumbling.

Just when we all thought it was over for Portugal, they get a free kick in the 88th minute. Ronaldo left us in awe after he placed it past a frozen De Gea, allowing him to grab a point from the match.

Without delay in Portugal’s match against Morocco, Ronaldo scores again. This goal against Morocco was a header in the 4th minute.

Ronaldo’s goal tally is now at 4, scoring in the 2018 World Cup more times than his last three combined.

Though the competition to grab the boot is getting fiercer. After Spain’s match against Iran, Diego Costa is at 3 goals.

Tied with him is Russia’s Cheryshev with 3 as well. Following them are Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku.

Ronaldo will have to stay at the top of his game if he wishes to continue to score. In fact, it’s crucial that he continues to score because the Portuguese side has yet to put in a solid performance bar Ronaldo’s goals.

For this reason, the 33 year old is confident that he will keep up his work.

"“Our expectation is to try to continue our work and try to get through the group stage. We’re almost there. We will try to make first place. We have to think match by match in order to progress.”“Our expectation is to try to continue our work and try to get through the group stage. We’re almost there. We will try to make first place. We have to think match by match in order to progress.”"

Portugal’s path to the final will not be easy, but it will be interesting. They still have tough competition ahead of them. Fortunately at the rate Ronaldo is scoring he’ll have 14 goals at the end of the tournament and claim his golden boot.
