Harry Kane stunned the world after taking a penalty that helped England beat Colombia. The 24-year-old now has 6 goals in his first World Cup appearance.

Harry Kane began his conquest by scoring two goals in a 2-1 win against Tunisia. His awareness allowed him to grab the first goal, which was a simple tap in at the near post. He then followed up with a second by positioning himself to head in the ball at the back post.

Without delay, Kane obtains a hat-trick against Panama in his second group stage game. He slotted home the second goal from the penalty spot in their 6-1 win.

Similarly his second goal came from the penalty spot as well. His third goal came after Loftus-Cheek shot the ball and it deflected off Harry Kane.

Unsurprisingly, Kane continued his dominance in England’s battle with Colombia. He converted from the penalty spot in the 57th minute. Marking his 6th goal in the 2018 World Cup.

To put into comparison, Lionel Messi has 6 goals total in his World Cup career and James Rodriguez had 6 goals in total at the 2014 World Cup.

Kane was obviously excited and took to Twitter to celebrate the moment.

All of England will hope that he continues his fantastic form going forward. The “3 Lions” next opponents will be Sweden in the quarterfinals on July 7th.

If England are successful in defeating Sweden, they’ll likely face Croatia or possible Russia in the semifinals. That makes a finals appearance very probable for such a young and talented squad.

Another key point is that Kane has 19 goals in 27 appearances. His chances of scoring against his future opposition is high. With 6 goals currently there’s no reason to doubt he could reach double digits.

Not to mention, Kane is confident that he can keep up his form. His post match statements hint that we’ll see more goals from him in the coming games.

"“As a striker you want to score goals, do your job and do the best for the team. Hopefully it continues. I’m extremely proud of these achievements but I want to do better and do more. I’m looking forward to the next game.“As a striker you want to score goals, do your job and do the best for the team. Hopefully it continues. I’m extremely proud of these achievements but I want to do better and do more. I’m looking forward to the next game."

Moreover, England grew as a team with their performance. The nation had a dark past when it comes to penalty shootouts and overall World Cup performance. Kane has brought a new era to English football. An era that many fans are eager to experience.
