Arsenal are set to complete the signing of Lucas Torreira within the coming weeks.
This particular transfer window has been fruitful for Arsenal. Busy windows aren’t something the Gunners faithful are accustomed to, but they certainly aren’t complaining.
The North London club has signed Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Bernd Leno and Stephan Lichtsteiner already, but you can see they’re hoping for more.
The ongoing saga of Lucas Torreira could now come to a close, according to BBC Sport. Arsenal fans will take immense pleasure in hearing David Ornstein report the news, as that man is treated like a God on social media.
Arsenal hope to complete Lucas Torreira deal next week. Agreed with Sampdoria & 22yo. A good move for Arsenal?
Before the World Cup, many hadn’t heard the name Lucas Torreira. However, after watching him boss the midfield for Uruguay, it’s clear to see why Unai Emery wants him.
He gives Arsenal everything they need to complete the perfect balanced midfield. What he provides is defensive stability, something no other midfielder at the club is able to offer.

This will take the defensive onus away from Granit Xhaka, who unfairly has the responsibility pinned on him, even though he excels in other areas.
This was a smart move from Unai Emery, and if all transfer windows under the Spaniard go the way this one has, the Gunners are in for a serious treat.
Farewell Jack Wilshere
Jack Wilshere leaving suddenly doesn’t seem so bad. Arsenal have brought in perhaps a better, younger player, who isn’t prone to injury.

Torreira is much different to Wilshere from a tactical standpoint, but he has everything it takes to be a fan favorite.
He will give his all to each and every game. In the World Cup game between Uruguay and Portugal, he got the better of Cristiano Ronaldo. There was one moment in particular which I liked – there was no way he could tackle the ball with his feet, so instead he used his head.
Call it the Phil Jones stock-in-trade if you wish, but to me that’s pretty impressive. If he can achieve the same tenacity in the Premier League, then the frailties will be masked.
