Real Madrid will submit a bid for Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, but it will be a hefty fee.

Ever since the announcement of Cristiano Ronaldo joining Juventus shocked the world, Real Madrid have been busy shortlisting a bunch of potential successors.

It’s never going to be easy filling the boots of Ronaldo. His legacy will never be forgotten and he will go down as a potential greatest of all time.

But, there are a few names in European football who could step up to the challenge, and Eden Hazard of Chelsea is one of them.

According to Daily Mail, Real Madrid believe they can persuade the Chelsea board to sell their star for a fee of around £150m.

Worth the money?

It doesn’t take a genius to work out Eden Hazard is one of the best in the world. His career with Chelsea may have had it’s lows, but he’s certainly put in 100% effort each week and his ability on the ball is undeniable.

When Hazard ticks, Chelsea ticks. Luckily, he won’t have this much of an onus should he join Real Madrid, as the Spaniards have a lot of talent to showcase.

£150m is a lot of money, but filling the boots of a legend was never going to come cheap. Hazard mustn’t be put off by the hefty price tag, and he must focus on allowing his ability to do the talking.

Here’s where it gets complicated for Chelsea…

Chelsea are in a state of rebuilding their squad for life after Antonio Conte. Maurizio Sarri is the likely candidate to land the London opening, but should he join, he has a few conditions.

He spoke about those conditions to Roman Abramovich. Essentially, he wants Chelsea to keep both Hazard and Willian if he is to take on the challenge.

For Real Madrid, this only speaks volume of how highly Hazard is rated across the globe. And rightly so. He has had a successful World Cup campaign, in which Belgium face England in a third place play-off.

It was a difficult season for Chelsea, but Hazard helped to lead his side to the FA Cup final, in which he scored the only goal against Manchester United.
