Three player’s Manchester United must sign this summer
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho should follow through on transfer links to 3 more players this summer to ensure the team is ready for a genuine title challenge next season.
United finished 2nd in the Premier League last season but fell 19 points short of Champions and local rivals Manchester City, ultimately ending the year trophyless.
Mourinho’s men failed to defend the League Cup they’d won the year before and lost 1-0 to Chelsea in the Fa Cup Final.
However, the worst indictment of the team came in the Champions League, after they suffered a shock last 16 exit to Spanish outfit Sevilla, losing the second leg 2-1 at Old Trafford.
The Red Devil’s disappointing season could be attributed to a number of issues, not least the absence of a leader in the back four and a lack of width going forward.
Star midfielder Paul Pogba also struggled to influence games consistently and Mourinho’s defensive-minded tactics were often called into question.
The Portuguese boss has added full-back Diego Dalot (From FC Porto), goalkeeper Lee Grant (Stoke City) and box to box midfielder Fred (Shakhtar Donetsk) to the roster at Old Trafford so far this summer.
The latter can certainly help to release Pogba higher up the pitch and sure up the team in the middle of the park, but more reinforcements are needed if United are to improve on their last campaign.
The club has been linked with several high profile signings this summer already, but there are 3 in particular who really could bring balance to the team.
Let’s take a look at the first, a familiar face to fans of English football and a player that has flourished into one of the best wing-backs in the business.
