Arsenal have reportedly received a loan offer for Danny Welbeck, here’s why they shouldn’t accept.
According to Express, Newcastle United are eyeing a loan move for the out of favor Arsenal striker, Danny Welbeck.
Unai Emery is currently in pre-season with Arsenal, preparing for the season ahead. He hasn’t yet had the chance to work with Danny Welbeck, after England impressed at the World Cup.
However, he’s probably done his research on the striker. Many assume Welbeck is surplus to requirements, an easy assumption to make given the quality of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. But he’s not, and here’s why.

It’s easy to forget Arsenal will be playing in the Europa League next season with all the excitement surrounding the club.
It’s still yet to be seen which approach Emery will take to the competition, but one would assume he will switch things up during the group stage.
This is the perfect opportunity for Welbeck to get some minutes, as he did often in last season’s competition. He scored a brace against Milan, but failed to make an impact against Atletico Madrid in the important semifinal.
Unai Emery is a specialist in the competition, winning it in three consecutive seasons with former club Sevilla. He will know how to utilize Welbeck well, and who knows, he could turn into a real star.
How should Unai Emery use Danny Welbeck?
Welbeck isn’t an easy one to get the best out of. Having had experience with two of the greatest Premier League managers, Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger, he hasn’t lived up to expectation.
Perhaps Emery can get the best out of him, though. Emery has been known to save careers, through his stern yet approachable method of man management.
He needs to install the belief back into Welbeck, and remind him that he has en equal opportunity to the likes of Lacazette and Aubameyang.
A loan move to Newcastle could benefit Welbeck, but at this stage in his career, it’s not where he should be.
Arsenal fans, don’t kill me, but I personally hope Welbeck learned a lot from Harry Kane on international duty. It wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, would it?
