Stan Kroenke isn’t the most popular figure at Arsenal.

Times are looking positive at Arsenal currently, but don’t let that distract you from the fact Stan Kroenke is still the majority shareholder. That’s right, I bet you remember him from last season.

While many were calling for Arsene Wenger to be axed from the managerial position, some of the Gunners faithful recognized that actually, there’s an underlying problem with the board.

Kroenke is one of the richest men in the world, often spreading his riches across the world of sport. Well, perhaps that’s an overstatement right, Arsenal fans?

The man so often referred to as a ‘crook’, barely puts his money where his mouth is when it comes to North London. And the other members of the Arsenal board have recognized this, particularly Alisher Usmanov.

However, the Russian is looking to sell his shares in Arsenal Holdings, as he doesn’t feel like he can catch up to Kroenke. This is according to Financial Times.

Usmanov would have been ideal.

Of the two, Usmanov would have been the best man to carry Arsenal forward, not Stan ‘crook’ Kroenke.

Usmanov clearly shares the same beliefs as the fans, as he often expressed in his interviews last season.

It’s somebody like this who is willing to cough up the cash and shares the same frustrations as the fans which the Gunners need at the top.

There are still signs of hope under Kroenke.

That said, this transfer window has been pretty impressive. Wenger’s only downfall was his inability to strengthen in dire positions with the funds available, something which Emery has expressed expertly.

Five players have been signed so far, with the possibility of a sixth. This isn’t bad when you consider the lack of excitement heading into the window.

It was thought that Emery would have a hard time strengthening his squad, as he would deal with a lack of resources. It’s been quite the opposite case though, and now many Arsenal fans are hopeful for the new season to commence.
