After a frustrating debut season and his club bringing in another player at his position, FC Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele reportedly may want a move away from the Catalan club.

World champion and Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele had a less than ideal debut season in Spain, suffering a leg injury that saw him miss an extensive amount of time just after arriving to his new club.

Now, after the Catalan giants have made news once more by hijacking Roma’s move for Brazilian winger Malcom, Spanish outlet Cadena Cope report that Dembele is disappointed with the team acquiring another winger and now is seeking a move away from Barcelona.

Reports suggest that Dembele sees Malcom’s arrival as the club’s lack of belief in him and as a threat to his position on the team.

The Frenchman, understandably, is not willing to play a secondary role whatsoever.

Malcom isn’t the only concern.

Barcelona’s purchase of Malcom however, is not the only thing reportedly causing Dembele to contemplate his Barcelona future.

Cadena Cope go on to report that the relationship between the Blaugrana manager Ernesto Valverde and Dembele is a rocky one, being described as “distant”.

The report is detailed even going as far as to state that Valverde didn’t send Dembele any sort of congratulatory message after France’s World Cup victory over Croatia.

Despite the alleged tension between the player and Valverde, the manager and the club itself are completely against a hypothetical exit for Dembele as he has not yet had the chance to live up to his €105 million price tag.

Cadena Cope report that the club suggests that they view Malcom and Dembele as two completely different types of players and will therefore not be looking to sell the latter.

This report comes after some speculation that a move to England could be in the cards for the French star. Some of the Premier League’s top clubs have reportedly been linked with Dembele with Arsenal and Manchester United among the purported suitors.

With a player that possesses the qualities of Dembele being extremely rare and player holding a similar price tag being even rarer, it is unlikely at this time that Barcelona will unload one of the players key to their future success.
