Jordan Pickford may wish to continue life at Everton, rather than join Chelsea.
Chelsea aren’t having the best of transfer windows currently. They are at risk of losing their goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, with no real backup looking likely.
They have been rumored to pursue Jordan Pickford, but they’ve suffered a huge setback in this department. According to The Times, Everton are looking to secure the future of their Englishman by offering him a new bumper contract.
Will Pickford accept?

This is a difficult one to answer. Everton has treated him well during his time, allowing him to develop into a top goalkeeper so far during his short spell.
Obviously, the World Cup uncovered his true potential, and he was always going to receive offers from elsewhere. Chelsea are just one of the names interested in his services, with Bayern Munich interested before the World Cup kicked off.
If he were to sign a new deal at Everton, it would be a huge sign of intent from both the player and the club. But could his decision come at a detrimental impact for the Blues?
Chelsea must avoid embarrassment.
If Chelsea don’t sign Pickford, and the goalkeeper chooses to remain at Everton, this would speak volumes of the club’s negotiation approach.
It won’t be the first time they have missed out on a goalkeeper this summer either, with Alisson choosing to join Liverpool instead, despite the Reds also having a poor negotiation approach.
Whatever fee Everton is saying they must pay, Chelsea should pay it instantly. They are in dire need of a goalkeeper with the transfer window soon closing, and Pickford is the best option available on the market.
He will allow the back-line to be more organized as he barks orders from between the sticks. It’s this type of commanding which the Stamford Bridge club need, as Maurizio Sarri can’t do everything from the technical area.
Do you think Chelsea should pay big money to sign Pickford?
